Llibre de 103 pàgines del metge Joan Paulís i Pagès titulat “Las obreres de la aguja”, publicat el 1913 a la ciutat de Barcelona per l’Editorial Ibérica. El llibre és la transcripció del discurs llegit per l’autor en la sessió del 26 de gener de 1913 a l’Ateneu Barcelonès. En ell es descriu la situació i condicions de vida deplorables de les anomenades “obreres de l’agulla”, les dones obreres vinculades a l’industria tèxtil com modistes, que treballaven en petits tallers situats en l’àmbit domèstic, formant el gruix d'obrers que treballava sota les condicions laborals de «sweating system» (traduït vagament com treball a «preu fet»).
