The History Museum of Catalonia organises guided tours, activities and workshops for varied groups to bring history to each group in the most interesting way possible. To do this, it offers users a tour booking service so they can ask any questions they have and book the activities they are interested in.
You can contact the tour booking service by calling 932 254 244, from Monday to Thursday from 10am to 2pm and 3.30 to 5.30pm and on Fridays from 9.30am to 2pm or via the e-mail address mhcvisites.cultura@gencat.cat
By type of tour or activity
Guided tours of the exhibitions
The museum organises guided tours of both the permanent exhibition and temporary exhibitions (see all tours).
- If you wish to go on a tour individually, you do not need an advance booking. You can go straight to the museum at the appropriate time on the day of the tour.
- If you would like a group tour, contact the museum’s tour booking service.
Educational activities
The museum has a full education programme, with activities and resources for students of all ages and levels of education (see the educational activities offered by the museum).
- If you would like a group tour, contact the museum’s tour booking service.
- Groups of students wishing to make a self-guided visit to the museum with a teacher must also confirm a group booking using the tour booking service.
Routes through history
Every Saturday at 11.30 am the museum offers a guided walk through the streets of Barcelona to discover surprising aspects of our history (see all routes).
To do this activity, you need to put your name down in advance via the tour booking services. The tour will operate provided the minimum number of people is reached. If it is cancelled, anyone who has booked will be notified sufficiently in advance.
- If you would like a group tour, contact the museum’s tour booking service.
Children’s and family activities
The museum organises family activities so that children can experience history in a different, fun way. These options are aimed at families with children aged at least three, four or six (depending on the activity) allowing them to experience history at first hand. Some activities combine the experience in the Museum rooms with a practical workshop and/or the possibility to take home a snippet of our history and the experience they have had in the museum as a souvenir (see all family activities).
- Limited places. Booking is required.
